 | | Pump Stations Around Town
The City of Fort Lauderdale has successfully managed the operation of a water and wastewater utility system since the 1920s. WaterWorks 2011 is a major investment in the upgrade of that system which includes many state-of-the art improvements. These improvements included the construction of 42 new pump stations and the rehabilitation of 48 existing pump stations. Inclusive of these pump stations, the City now has nearly 200 pump stations around town quietly transporting waste underground and out of sight.
